I graduated from Reinhardt College with a degree in Communications. I was a cheerleader and competitive gymnast while in school. I have taught pre-school gymnastics, coached cheerleading, conducted adult group fitness classes and one-on-one personal training. I enjoyed volunteering with Special Olympics for several years. I am CPR and First Aid certified through the State of Georgia. I married my high school sweetie and have 3 wonderful children. My favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my family. I enjoy skiing, running and exercising. As the Director at All Around Gymnastics, I am passionate about helping each child reach their full potential.
My love of gymnastics started as a young girl doing cartwheels, handstands and rolls in the grass. I began in some rec classes and a coach quickly grabbed me and put me on a competitive team. And as they say its history from there. I enjoyed many competitive years as an upper level gymnast competing in many regional and national competitions. After my gymnastics career ended, I turned my love of performing gymnastics into coaching. I have been coaching for over 25 years and have had many State, Regional and National gymnasts and state team winners. I have also owned my own gymnastics center for many years, spoke in various clinics and congresses, and consulted other gyms to better their class and team programs. I have coached mommy and me through Elite level gymnasts. Many of my gymnasts have gone on to compete in college but more importantly many have gone on to establish very successful careers. They are still in contact with me today and say the discipline, character, and motivation given to them as a gymnast helped them to become productive people. With all of my accolades and such, that is my greatest accomplishment. After all that’s what teaching children is all about!
I have been judging women’s gymnastics for over 20 years and I currently hold a National rating. I won the Class III GA State All-Around Championship when I was 12 years old. After a successful high school career, I received a gymnastics scholarship to Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. While there I set school records in All-Around, Vault and Beam. I was Scholastic All-American, voted Longwood’s Freshman Female Athlete of the Year and was twice voted team captain and Team MVP. I have 18 years of dance experience and I have taught gymnastics and dance since I was 16 years old. I am married to Marty and have four children, Danyella, Marty IV, Chad and Marie. I have a degree in Fine Art and I enjoy being creative, reading, boating, skiing and the beach!
My love of gymnastics began at age 5 in a class at the local park. I competed from age 7 through high school – where I was thrilled to be a part of the first HS team from within the city of Chicago to make it to the State Championships. I had my first job teaching gymnastics right out of high school and have taught for several recreational programs over the years. In college, I put my tumbling skills to use as an NCAA Division I cheerleader for four years at DePaul University. After earning my B.S. in physical education I was asked to remain with the program as head coach. I have had the opportunity to train at national camps as both an athlete and coach. As an adult, I began formal classes in ballet and tap and have taught pre-dance and beginner classes. I held my teaching certificate in Florida and spent several years teaching PE in Sarasota County. I am both USAG and AACCA certified and hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Shortly after graduating from DePaul I married my college sweetheart and cheerleading teammate, Bo. We have two amazing daughters, Taylor and Emily, who both attend the University of Alabama. When I am not at the gym, I enjoy gardening, trying new recipes and mastering the art of bread baking. I also love to read and am a big college football fan. And recently, I have discovered the joy of hiking the beautiful terrain in North Georgia. I feel excited and blessed to be part of the All Around Gymnastics family!
I started doing gymnastics at Gym Elite at the age of 7 and competed nationally and internationally up through high school with Atlanta School of Gymnastics. I was ranked 30th in the nation and 7th on the Rings. I declined several scholarships to stay in Georgia and coach 7 boys teams with my first coach and mentor Edward Zeiliger. Our teams went on to win several state championships, regional championships and I had national qualifiers every year. I have also helped several boys receive scholarships for gymnastics and found great satisfaction in being a part of their success. I started coaching girls gymnastics in 2010. That year, I helped take 2 girls to nationals and focused on developing their high level tumbling, vaulting, and release moves on bars.
During the day I work for E*Trade as a Financial Consultant and Coaching is my favorite hobby. I am married to Jessie who is an 8th grade English Teacher.
I attended DeKalb College and Georgia State University where I studied Physical Health and Education. I started dancing when I was four years old and haven’t stopped yet. I trained at The Dance and Drama Workshop, Margo Bibby School of Dance and The Aida Sutton Jones Dance School. I opened my own dance studio in Canada before moving to Atlanta in 1992. I was the owner and operator of Dance Maria in Roswell, Georgia.
I am a former elite gymnast from south Florida. I trained at American Twisters Gymnastics and competed nationally for 7 years. I was a cheerleader in high school as well as a performer with Cirque de Solei. I have coached gymnastics of and on since I was 16 years old. I have been married for 12 years and have 4 wonderful children, Alyssa, Caleb, Preston and Brady.
Gymnastics has been part of my life since I was very little. I started rec classes when I was 3. By 8 years old I joined the level 5 team at Gwinnett Gymnastics center. I competed through level 8 until I was 13 years old. Once high school came along I made the transition to cheerleading and cheered all four years for various sports and I was part of my high school’s very first competition squad my senior year. After high school I went to college at UGA and kept up with my tumbling as a hobby. Prior to teaching rec classes here at All Around I taught rec gymnastics for 2 years at Gwinnett Gymnastics Center. I have been part of the All Around Gymnastics family since November of 2010. It has been such a blessing to get to know so many smiling faces here and I think I have the most fun and fulfilling job that there is to have! I am married with 2 little boys of my own.
I was a gymnast for 18 years. I competed up to level 10 at the national level. I went to Centenary College of Louisiana on a scholarship and competed all 4 years. I was a two-time All American on bars. I was the head coach for level 3 and 4 while in college. I also coached and counseled at UGA GymDawg camp for 4 years from 2007-2011. I coached optional camp at Gwinnett gymnastics center 2008/09 and coached compulsory camp at GGC from 2008-2011. I have many years of coaching experience. I have coached classes that range from the preschool level all the way to the elite level. I couldn’t imagine my life without gymnastics being a part of it.
When I started training as a gymnast I was 11 years old and was told I couldn’t chew bubble gum and walk at the same time. I may have gotten started late in the game, but that didn’t stop me from falling in love with the sport and competing as a gymnast for 6 years. I am a firm believer that no matter what age you start you can always be successful if you are willing to work for it. I started coaching at the age of 15. I have taught ages 18 months – 16years old in all levels of recreational gymnastics and competition team programs, as well as performing as head coach for USAG prep bronze. I am USAG Safety Certified and I am trained in CPR and First Aid. I recently graduated from Lanier Technical College, where I earned my Medical Assisting Degree, but I have decided that coaching is my passion and wouldn’t be happy doing anything else!
